Trackplan is an independent, editorial journal about model railways — track plans, sidings, benchwork, scale and gauge, and timetable operation. It's written for general hobby interest and is not professional engineering advice for anything beyond a model layout.
Articles, glossary entries and other written material on this site are the property of Trackplan unless otherwise noted. You're welcome to read, link to, and share our pages. If you want to republish substantial portions of an article elsewhere, ask us first at the contact address below.
We do our best to write accurately, but hobby techniques, opinions and best practices vary between modelers, and we may get details wrong or out of date. Content on this site is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, and shouldn't be treated as the only correct way to plan or operate a layout.
Timetable Board is a separate companion tool referenced on this site. Its own use is subject to whatever terms are presented within the app itself; using the Trackplan journal does not obligate you to use Timetable Board, and vice versa.
We may link to third-party sites for further reading. We don't control and aren't responsible for the content or availability of sites we don't operate.
